Interview with a Local : Cancun, Mexico – a Visitors Guide by a Local

I loved to go to Isla Blanca, which is a stunning unspoiled hidden white sand beach 15 minutes drive from Cancun. Alternatively, to head to Puerto Morelos, a quirky fishing village that has become quite an attraction among the locals for its quiet beaches and lovely restaurants. However, I loved it mostly for the Ruta de Los cenotes, a road that goes inland and takes you to many different cenotes, an oasis and a miracle of nature to me. ... Read More...

Interview with a Local: Rio de Janeiro

In Rio de Janeiro, most people have to see Christ the Redeemer, visit either Ipanema or Copacabana beach and go up Pão Açucar (Sugarloaf). But there is so much more to do in Rio de Janeiro. I love the neighbourhood of Santa Teresa. It has a bohemian type of vibe with delicious local food. Or on Monday you can go to Pedro do Sal, which is the birthplace of Samba.... Read More...

Interview with a Local : Ljubljana, Slovenia

Although I love Ljubljana very much I often leave the city  and spend a weekend on Bled Lake. When I decide to hang out in Ljubljana, I love food, so my activities in Ljubljana always involve  good food, no matter the season. In summer I love having a brunch in random bistro along the Ljubljanica river, or meet up with friends on Friday  afternoons in the Open Kitchen food market - kind of a  get-together with great traditional Slovenian as well as international food and drinks, prepared by the selected restaurants and best chefs from all over Slovenia. In the summer evenings during July I always visit  Ljubljana Castle during the Film under the stars project.... Interview with a Local : Seville

I would start out with a tostada de pringá (minced meat toast) and a coffee at La Estrellita, one of my favourite breakfast joints in my neighborhood. I'd probably stroll down near the river and across the bridge to the city centre and shop along Calle Sierpes. Midday beers with friends would be at Plaza Salvador, a central meeting place for a beer before having a few tapas and a long siesta. ... Read More...

Interview with a Local : Dubai

In my opinion, Old Deira is a must-see place when visiting Dubai. You can take a boat for 1 dirham (25 cents) to cross the river and explore the original, old, ancient Dubai. You can buy a lot of souvenirs, incent and spices - barter for the best prices! I would recommend visiting the Dubai Museum where you can learn a lot about the city's history. Apart from this, you should definitely join a desert safari once.   ... Read More...
